Citizen initiatives, term limits, campaign limits, recalls and so much more…the county can not make these available because we are not a charter county. Our Manatee County cities are charter, yet they opposing the county going charter. City residents are also county residents and the ability to tailor our county government would greatly benefit all in Manatee County. Cities do not need to fear county government preemption if Manatee County enacts Charter Government. The cities should welcome Manatee County acquiring the same advantages of charter government they enjoy.
