Saturday, April 24, 10:00AM, Speaker 10:30AM
We are very honored to have as our main speaker Angelina (Angel) M. Colonneso, Clerk of our County Circuit Courts and Comptroller of Manatee County.
Angel earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida in 1991, where she was inducted into the National Criminal Justice Honor Society, as well as the Alpha Chi National Honor Society. She received her Juris Doctor degree from New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts in 2000.
Angel has nearly 30 years of public service to Manatee County. She served as an Assistant State Attorney under Earl Moreland for over a decade, prosecuting numerous crimes including gang violence, homicides, and DUIs. Over half of her years of public service have been with the Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court, serving in multiple departments.
Angel has been a member of the Manatee County Bar Association since 2000, having served as both a Director and an Officer. She is a member and leader of many local organizations and commissions, always making a difference. On the state and federal levels, Angel was appointed to the Florida Courts Technology Commission. Additionally, she was appointed by Senate President Bill Galvano to serve a two year term on the Executive Council of the Clerk of Court Operations Corporation. It’s not surprising that she was featured on ABC 7 News’ ” Amazing Woman of the Suncoast”.
Angel will share a little of her journey, and introduce us to the incredible range of duties and services of the Clerk of Court and Comptroller office and give a few pointers on accessing their services – from recording legal documents, child support, passports, judge assistance, traffic tickets, to oversight of Manatee county finances and much more. Angel is excited to be our annual speaker and guarantees you will not be bored.
