Impact of Ian on the Bays and Watersheds
Please join us on October 20th at 7:00 p.m. to hear Dr. Dave Tomasko, Executive Director of Sarasota Bay Estuary Program (SBEP) talk with us about SBEP’s mission and work including how it works with others and its participation in a collaborative effort to measure the impact of Hurricane Ian on the bays and watersheds in our region.
Dr. Dave Tomasko has more than 30 years of experience in water quality assessments and the development of science-based natural resource plans in the Gulf of Mexico and international locations. He holds a Ph.D. in biology from the University of South Florida, a Master of Science in marine biology from the Florida Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in biology from Old Dominion University. We are thankful amidst his busy schedule at this time that Dr. Tomasko can join us!
Megan Barry, SBEP’s Public Outreach Manager, will share with us about their volunteer and community activities. Q and A will follow.
