Post Election Analysis
Just six days after the election, our panel will discuss the winners, losers and trends. We will explore what it might mean for the state and locally. They will talk about the implications of the ballot measures.
Directly from the Supervisor of Elections office, we will hear where things ran smoothly and where there were problems, the accommodations necessary due to the hurricanes and the use of the new Clear Ballot auditing system.
Following the presentations, questions will be taken from the audience.
Our Speakers are:
Mitch Maley is a featured columnist and senior editor for The Bradenton Times. He also hosts The Bradenton Times Podcast. Mitch joined TBT in 2010 after a successful career as a freelance journalist, writing mostly for alt-weekly publications, including Creative Loafing.
Dr. Frank Alcock is the Director of Academic Initiatives and Special Projects and a Professor of Political Science and Environmental Studies at New College of Florida. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Duke University, a M.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University and a B.A. in Economics from Binghamton University. Frank appears regularly as a political analyst with ABC News in Sarasota and was a candidate for the Florida state Senate in 2016.
David Ballard is an attorney and the Assistant Manatee County Supervisor of Elections and was heavily involved in the operations of the 2024 election.
