Every 2 months the League of Women Voters of Manatee County have a program that spotlights one of our action teams, providing a “taste” of our work. New, existing and potential members are invited to learn about the League and its advocacy efforts as well as local issues.
Spotlight – The League of Women Voters has studied and taken action on social issues since its founding in 1920. Affordable housing and homelessness, justice, DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion), gender issues, implicit bias are all issues the Manatee County League Social Issues Action team is actively working on to make our county a better place for all our citizens.
The LWVMC’s Social Issues Action Team Chair Helen Andersen will share the League’s positions, the Team’s efforts and its future work.
Recurring Segment – “What’s in the Works” -Find out what all 7 committees and special projects are in the works in less than 10 minutes. Ask questions and give input. Our League will be even better with an informed membership and greater participation!
Of course, we will have our toast, poll questions and fun.
