Spotlighting the Eduction Issues Action TeamNew, existing and potential members are invited.  At each Taste program we learn more about the League and more about League of Women Voters of Manatee County’s advocacy work.

Education has become a flashpoint with parents, the voting public, legislators and political parties. The Education Issues Action Team has been monitoring the changes, providing input and making a difference.  It advocates for adequate funding and scholastic improvements to public schools in Manatee County and an inclusive and realistic planning and administration.

Merrie Lynn Parker, the League of Women Voters of Manatee County Education Action Team Chair will share the advocacy work, League concerns and their future work.  Her background as a lifelong resident of Manatee County and a MC educator and administrator bring experiences and perspectives that bring more breadth and meaning to our advocacy and the Taste presentation. 

 There will be a quick update on the primary election and, of course, other fun activities and our toast.  Don’t miss it!
