Unite and Rise Rally
Continue to Unite and Rise, Join the LWVSRQ Rally on Saturday, July 5
Local League of Women Voters and their supporters had a strong visible presence at the June 14 rallies in Manatee and Sarasota counties. This was just the beginning of the local effort to support the League’s national United and Rise 8.5 campaign to stand up for our Constitution and the Rule of Law.
The League of Women Voters of Sarasota (LWV-SRQ) will be holding a follow-up Unite and Rise rally for all local residents on Saturday, July 5, 2025, from 10 to 11 am along South Bayfront Drive, between Ringling Blvd. and Selby Gardens.
Manatee County League (LWV-MC) members and all those who care about upholding the Constitution and rule of law are encouraged to attend.
The LWV-SRQ rally will be a gathering to oppose:
- * Congress’s failure to uphold the oath of office.
- * The violation of our constitutional rights.
- * Our elected officials’ failure to uphold our democratic norms.
LWV-SRQ will furnish signs to ensure the rally is non-partisan. Participants are also welcomed to bring LWV-MC Unite and Rise signs that were provided at local pick-up locations in June and may be ordered through this LWV-MC website.
Rally participants, please register by Clicking Here. People who register will be provided additional information, including where to congregate for the rally.
In preparation for the July 5 rally, LWV-SRQ provides two links to help League members and citizens know their rights and why defending democracy must be non-partisan.
