Universal Health Coverage Day is celebrated annually on December 12 and is promoted by the World Health Organization. December 12 is the anniversary of the first unanimous United Nations resolution [including the USA] calling for all nations to provide for their citizens affordable, quality health care.

Barbara Pearson is chair of the League of Women Voters Health Care Committee in Amherst MA, on the steering committee of the League’s national network for Health Care Reform 4 the US (HCR4US), a foot soldier in Western Mass Medicare for All, and curator of the state map for OnePayerStates.org. She works with a broad coalition of individuals and groups working to re-create government that serves the public good, with Medicare 4 All a cornerstone of its platform: “Healthy People for a Healthy Democracy.”
Ray Fusco is a retired healthcare administrator with over 40 years of experience managing for profit and not for profit healthcare entities. He has been a hospital CEO, surgery center chief administrator, chief administrator of a rehabilitation facility, Chief Operating Officer of the 3rd largest community healthcare center in the US, developed and launched a successful Medicare Accountable Care network. He have a BS in education, Masters of health education, Masters of Business Administration and an AA in registered nursing.
