LWVMC & LWVSRQ Joint Interview ABC7 TV

Terri Kondos, Vice President of the League of Women Voters of Manatee County, and Vilia Johnson, President of the Sarasota League, will be featured on Empowering Voices on ABC7. They will be interviewed by host and Executive Producer Renée Gilmore in a conversation focused on the upcoming midterm elections.

The discussion will explore key issues affecting Florida voters, including concerns about the diminishing strength of voters’ voices and recent legislative actions that may disenfranchise or otherwise harm Florida voters. Topics will include:

• 2026 Florida House Bill 991 (Election Integrity)
• Florida’s Special Session on Redistricting

Because the right to vote is the foundation of all other rights, the program will also highlight the League’s legal challenges to HB 991 and to 2025’s HB 1205, which restricts citizens’ petition rights, as well as actions Floridians can take to protect their voice in our democracy.
