Show up for Affordable Housing and Criminal Justice Reform
You are invited to join STREAM and community members from all across Manatee County at the Nehemiah Action Event where STREAM leaders will ask elected officials to agree to take specific actions to address our community’s needs in the areas of Affordable Housing and Criminal Justice Reform. Announcements and celebration of the progress that has been made since STREAM’s first year 2021-2022 will also be shared. We need an impressive showing of support to impress the elected officials that the community wants and needs these reforms.
Individually, we don’t have the power to hold political leaders accountable for the fairness or justice of their actions and policies. But through the use of the DART (Direct Action and Research Training Center) model, S.T.R.E.A.M. (a nonpartisan, grassroots organizing group uniting 15+ faith communities) is building “people power” in Manatee County and driving the changes our community is asking for and needs. STREAM works to create long-term solutions by changing problematic policies and systems that are significant drivers of poverty and injustice.
