The League of Women Voters of Manatee County hosted, “Freedom Fighter Friday” to raise funds for Floridians Protecting Freedom, in support of a constitutional amendment on the 2024 ballot so that all Floridians have the freedom to make personal medical decisions, including about abortion, free of government intrusion.
Everyone had a grand time and was inspired. We had a great speaker, activities, drinks and heavy hors d’oeuvres. The speaker and motivator was Kait Thompson, Director of Government Relations and Community Engagement for Planned Parenthood of Southwest Central Florida and Executive Committee Member for Floridians Protecting Freedom. We raised a little over $4,500, but recently a match has been offered for contributions, so this will make the effort yield $9,000.
Getting a constitutional amendment on the ballot in Florida requires a great deal of money. Let’s take advantage of this match. Let’s raise even more, especially since donations will be matched! Please use the links below and donations will be gladly accepted.
