The Bylaws were substantially updated last year (2023). This year there a limited number of changes to the Bylaws and there are no changes to the Policies. There are changes to the Proposed Local Program, primarily a separate section for Gun Safety and addition to Health Care of our support of the citizen initiative to expand Medicaid to low income adults.
The budget was prepared with the assumption that the LWVMC would continue to have the same dues structure and that the state and national would continue to charge LWVMC the same amount per member for their annual dues in the National and State. The national intends to assume the billing for membership as of the end of 2024. They will be changing the amount of the membership dues and the percentage withheld by the National League. We have no way to accurately predict how this will change our income, or whether the implementation will actually occur at the end of the calendar year 2024 as planned (our league is on a fiscal year ending March 31st.)
